This notice explains what Techstreme does with the information you provide when you request a quote for a laptop screen replacement or enquire about remote support. Techstreme is the data controller for that information.
What we collect
When you fill in the quote form we collect the details you enter: your name, email address, an optional phone number, the laptop’s make, model and serial number, an optional service/express service code, any description of the fault you choose to add, and an optional photo of the screen if you attach one. Our server also records the IP address the request came from, which helps prevent spam and abuse.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
We use these details for one purpose: to prepare a quote and reply to you about your repair. Our lawful basis under UK GDPR is taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in preventing abuse of the form.
How it is stored
Quote requests are not saved in a database on this website. Each request is sent to us as an email and is held in our mailbox at the email provider so we can deal with it and keep a record of the work. We keep that correspondence only as long as needed to provide the service and for our own reasonable business records, then delete it.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your information or share it for marketing. It is handled by our email provider (which hosts the mailbox) purely so we can receive and reply to your message. If you go ahead with a repair, payment is taken through Stripe on their own secure hosted page — your card details are entered on Stripe’s systems and never reach this website.
Your rights
You have the right to ask what information we hold about you, to have it corrected, and to ask us to delete it. To do any of these, email screens@techstreme.co.uk. If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled your data you can complain to the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
This site sets a cookie only where it’s technically necessary — for example a session cookie that protects the quote form against cross-site request forgery. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
